Summer Leadership Intro: Maddie W
Hey everyone! My name is Maddie Williams, and I am a 21-year-old college student from Auburn, AL, currently studying Management at Auburn University. I unconventionally stumbled upon Black Dimond Camp online and I could not think of a more perfect fit for me! Adventuring outdoors is one of my favorite pastimes. The opportunity to pair it with intentional emotional and spiritual growth while pouring into others is a near-perfect alignment of my passions and values.
When offered the opportunity to be part of the leadership staff this summer, I was beyond honored. Excited to be surrounded by people I could learn from while working towards the united goal of giving back to campers all summer long. I am always on the lookout for experiences where I will be challenged to grow and have opportunities to build genuine relationships. I am confident this team will do just that and more!
Just for a few fun facts about myself!
- I grew up a third culture kid, spending 7 years living in East Asia between the ages of 6 and 13. And yes, it was the best experience ever!
- My four-legged best friend is a pit mix named Penny, and we do almost everything possible together.
- I thoroughly enjoy solo car camping and traveling any chance I get.
- I have recently regained a love for reading and have dabbled in some creative writing as my way to recharge and relax.
- I am pursuing a career as a clinical therapist and am extremely passionate about adolescent/young adult mental health and development!
This summer, I am so excited to be in a gorgeous new state while getting to spend quality time with campers and high schoolers on the Service Team. I am most looking forward to building relationships while having a ton of fun and hearing their life stories. To say I am overflowing with anticipation would be an understatement!
