What to Bring

You will be sharing a room with the other Service Team. Due to the fact that room space is limited, bring only what you will need for Session that you are attending. (Remember that any personal property is your responsibility. Black Diamond Camp is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of/to any personal property.) Here are a few suggestions:

Bring (These are general guidelines, not a comprehensive list):

• Bedding for twin-size mattress or sleeping bed
• Towels - for showering and swimming
• Toiletries - shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.
• Laundry Detergent
• Backpack-Daypack
• T-shirts
• Jeans
• Shorts
• Sweatshirts
• Rain Jacket
• Comfortable shoes to work in
  • Dish Clean Shoes (close toed, water proof recommended)
• Bible/journal/pens
• Swimsuits (modesty, please)
• Headphones if bringing a listening device

Medications

• When arriving and checking in please inform the staff member that you have meds. Medications can be stored in a secure facility if needed, however students may keep their meds with them through the duration of the session. (IMPORTANT: All medications must be in the original container with patient name/dose.)

What not to Bring

Please leave the following items at home:

• A lot of unnecessary items
• Walkie­ Talkies
• Knives or anything sharp
• Pets – Not even cute little ones
• Tobacco Products
• Alcohol or Drugs
• Your Own Harness / Helmet

Camper Code of Conduct

Camper Code of Conduct will be covered in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner during camp orientation. Our purpose in maintaining this code of conduct is to show that we are all here to build each other up and encourage one another in love at all times. As such, the following behaviors are not allowed at Black Diamond. If observed, campers are required to notify the camp director or a staff member immediately: ­

• Use or Possession of Alcohol, Drugs, or Tobacco
• Sexual Behavior ­of any kind
• Self­-Mutilation
• Eating Disorders ­
• Stealing or Lying ­
• Profanity ­or Inappropriate Language or Conversation ­
• Negative or Disrespectful Attitudes
• Skipping Activities or Sessions ­
• Bullying, Physical Abuse or Sexual Abuse ­
• Contraband Use or Possession
• Gossip ­or verbal abuse
• Keeping medications ­or failure to turn in or report medication

Abusive Behavior and Defiant Disobedience- Abusive behavior and defiant disobedience will NOT be tolerated and will be potential grounds for dismissal. This includes abusive behavior to self (drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, and self-­mutilation) or to others (bullying, fighting, and verbal abuse). If abusive behavior or defiant disobedience becomes apparent, please notify the camp director or a staff member immediately.

Sexual Misconduct or Abuse- Sexual misconduct or abuse will not be tolerated. Sexual misconduct or abuse will be grounds for dismissal and will require a meeting with the Director and notification of the Executive Director and Parents. If you observe sexual misconduct or abuse occurring, please notify the camp director or a staff member immediately.

Relationships- Black Diamond does not allow physical relationships between minors. All staff members will remain alert and vigilant for any signs of inappropriate conduct between minors. Youth of the opposite sex are not allowed to be alone together. Youth Campers are expected to not engage in sexual touching of any kind. ­Do your best to avoid and do not initiate kissing, frontal hugs, holding hands, back rubs, tickling, etc. No bullying, physical abuse or verbal harassment of any kind.

With Registration

Being a part of the Service Team, upon arrival your student/camper will receive a Camp staff t-shirt, Camp Nalgene Water Bottle, staff bracelet, and Camp stickers.

Cell Phones / Devices Policy

We are ok with having cellphones with your student/camper during their Service Team session, however we will be limiting the amount of cell phone use while here.

Meals

During your students/camper's stay we will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Lost & Found

Please label your students/camper belongings. Black Diamond Camp is not responsible for any lost or broken items. If your student/camper has lost an item at camp, please contact Andrew Hurst (360) 939-3863.

What to do in case of an emergency:

We want your student/camper to establish their independence. But if there’s a home emergency, contact Andrew Hurst at (360) 939-3863.
