Summer 2023 Rooted Recap

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7

This verse was the foundation of the summer program for both Group Camp and Day Camp. The value in what this verse says is huge, and it allowed us to share the Gospel in many unique ways to so many campers, families, and churches that came to Camp.

We saw God move in both programs creating huge life change for so many. With almost 100 students accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the first time, and nearly 50 students rededicating their lives to Jesus; making their faith walk even more real for them!

Along with these amazing highlights and the pure energy that is felt when kids rush through the doors to worship, you are reminded why camp is so important to so many. Among the fun and laughter that was heard throughout Camp, some of the phrases and statements that the campers shared were, “I feel so accepted by God…”, “I never had a more truthful surrender than at this Camp right here…”, and my personal favorite, “my best friend gave her life to Christ tonight!”

For many years Camp has been a place where we can come knowing that it is a safe place, somewhere that we can let loose and be ourselves and learn about the One who made us in His image. You can say it has been a place to experience why being ROOTED in Christ counts.

Thank you for your prayers and support for the summer ministry here at Black Diamond Camp!
