The Impact of Kids 2 Camp Funds

Did I effectively share the love of Christ? Are guests applying what they learn at Camp to their everyday lives? Did my contribution make a difference? Are lives actually changing here? When you are a part of camping ministry, whether you work, volunteer, or donate, these questions come to mind.

Pacific Northwest Leadership Camp (PNWLC), which was recently at Black Diamond Camp with the help of the Kids 2 Camp Scholarship Fund, helped answer those questions. The faith-based group’s mission is to motivate girls to set goals, harness their potential, and use their talents to lead and serve others at home, at school, and in the community.

Through activities such as swimming, hiking, rock climbing, dancing, and art these girls are coming out of their comfort zones to experience joy, higher self-esteem, and the love of God. “PNWLC builds up young women deeply rooted in Christ through lasting friendships. As a camper and later a counselor, I have formed friendships that will last me a lifetime and see me through every season. Whatever confidence and courage others see in me points straight back to Camp.”

At Camp, these young ladies experience the transformational power of community and authentic relationships. “Camp changed my life for the better. I developed lasting friendships and a greater sense of self, and I wouldn’t exchange the experience for anything in the world.”

These young ladies found a space to practice their faith, grow in a relationship with the Lord, and forge a path for the next generation. “I wanted to continue being a counselor for PNWLC because it’s played a big role in my life starting from the age of 10. It has been one of the only things in my life that has been constant and led me in the right path over a long period of time. It has made me become curious about my faith which in turn had made my faith stronger. As a counselor, I get to see and help other young girls have the same experience I had and create relationships that I know will last forever.”
