Meet the Team – Youth Program Manager

Hello! My name is Tyler, and I’m the Youth Program Manager at Black Diamond Camp in Auburn, WA. My camp journey began in 2004 when I was just nine years old. My mom needed a summer program for me, and after hearing about Camp from a family friend, she signed me up for Day Camp. I quickly fell in love with all the activities, but what truly kept me coming back year after year were the friendships I made and the incredible counselors who poured into my life.

As I grew older, I became a Counselor-In-Training, and it was during that time that I truly accepted Christ into my life. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be part of this ministry and help others experience the same life-changing moments I had. Over the years, I served in various roles—from summer counselor and activities staff to full-time positions in sales and hosting retreats.

After a two-year break due to COVID, I was thrilled to return as the Youth Program Manager. In this role, I lead the recruitment and hiring of our summer staff and support them throughout the season. What makes this role so special is that while other managers focus on specific camp programs, my focus is entirely on the staff—their growth, their well-being, and their ability to serve well. One of my greatest joys is witnessing staff members have breakthrough ministry moments with their campers—the same kind of moments that shaped my own journey.
