My Black Diamond Internship

When Easter 2021 came around, I had no idea what I was doing with my life. I had just spent the previous two years dedicated to missions in the South Pacific Islands when suddenly Covid started to spread around the world. This led me to move back in with my parents in Arizona as I tried to figure things out. Through this, I decided that I should move back to my hometown, Auburn WA, to look for new opportunities. Right away I got reconnected with my home church and found that Black Diamond Camp was looking for summer staff. I felt like God was nudging me in this direction, so I applied.

Fast forward to August 2021. As summer was ending, I heard about the Internship Program that was running at Camp and once again, I felt God nudging me toward it. Committing to the internship was really one of the best decisions I have ever made. Ever since it started, it has been a joy to serve the groups that have come through and see how God impacts every one of them. Through the internship, I have gotten to see the ins and outs of what camping ministry is and how we can glorify God here at Camp. Even though this is not where I thought I’d be, God has provided so many opportunities to grow as I discover my passion for camping ministry.
