He is Our Oasis

Let me start off by saying…God is so good! Over the past year, we at Black Diamond Camp have experienced a lot of change, and through that change, we’ve truly grown as a camp and as a community. Many people have stepped into new roles, sometimes ones they didn’t feel quite ready for, but God showed up in every moment. He has been so faithful to guide, strengthen, and equip us in ways we couldn’t have imagined!

This summer, our theme was Oasis—a word that perfectly captured what God was doing here. Whether it was a Day Camper experiencing camp for the first time, a Group Camp student returning for the fourth summer in a row, or a Summer Staffer traveling from the other side of the world, we saw God provide refreshment and renewal for everyone who came through our gates. Camp has truly become an oasis for so many—a place where people feel safe, welcomed, and loved, often in ways they don’t experience in their day-to-day lives.

We watched staff who once felt shy or uncertain become the first to jump on stage and dance to “The Wobble” (if you know, you know). We saw students carrying heavy burdens from home finally open up and find comfort through conversations with counselors they’d only known for a few days. Story after story reminded us of God’s goodness and the incredible work He is doing in and through this place.

As we look back on this summer, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude. God has blessed us so that we can be a blessing to others, and we’re honored to play a part in that. Here’s to Summer ’25—setting the stage and raising the bar for an even greater Summer ’26.
