Meet Annaliesa-2022 Summer Staff

Hey! My name is Annaliesa and I’m from Lee’s Summit, Missouri (which is just south of Kansas City). I really enjoy spending time outside, whether it’s playing sports or just going for walks. I also love reading and movies. I heard about Black Diamond Camp from my friend who had a roommate who worked here a few summers ago and loved it! I knew I wanted to give this summer to God to focus on serving Him in any way ...

My Black Diamond Journey

Christ-like change through outdoor adventure, authentic relationships, and Biblical truth. I didn’t realize it as a camper, but my whole camp experience was shaped by this mission statement.   When I was nine, I started coming to Day Camp and it became like my second home. I begged to come back week after week, summer after summer. Once I was old enough, I became a counselor-in-training, and it was during that time that I truly accepted Christ. I can vividly remember ...

Unexpected Destination

Unexpected blessings. If I could sum up what these past few months have looked like for me, it would be exactly that, an unexpected blessing.   About a year ago, I graduated from Liberty University without a clue of what I was doing with my life, and it felt like I was in a huge “in-between.” I had accomplished so much, but I wasn’t where I wanted to be. In all of this, I wondered, “How long? How long would ...

Getting ready for Summer at Black Diamond

Summer feels like it is just around the corner, but fear not, curriculum is well underway! So, how does Black Diamond Camp come up with what to teach campers every summer? Well, it begins with a rhythm of going through the Bible in 7 years. Our hope is that as we serve campers through our programs, kids will experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. We divide the Bible into seven sections:   Genesis   Exodus – Joshua   ...
