At the Feet of Jesus
At the Home of Martha and Mary“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do ...

Jumping Into Abundance
At camp, my favorite activity is definitely the zipline. I love running the zipline, especially when I get to facilitate the crow’s nest. The crow’s nest position means you are at the top of the tree and are the person who is responsible for getting people safely attached to the zipline, talking them through the process, and providing the support needed for them to zip down. The crow’s nest sits at about 35 feet up and it’s amazing up there! ...

A Joyful Experience
As part of the Black Diamond Camp Internship, I have the privilege of helping prepare and put on The Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach Camp in Stanwood, Washington. I enjoy preparing for The Lights of Christmas because I get to help create an experience for people to make fun memories with friends and family. Serving the community this way brings me happiness as I get to see smiles on the faces of people who come and experience it all. ...

Love is Patient
Everything around us moves so quickly, especially now with the Christmas season in full swing. The holiday season can test our patience, at the grocery store, on the road, even at home with our family. We want our packages to be delivered on time and we want everything to be perfect. Why is it we let ourselves become so frustrated and angry during this season of love and giving? Paul gives us some great insight in the book of Romans ...

My Summer Staff Experience: Mya
My name is Mya Slakey and I worked as Activities Staff at Black Diamond Camp in 2019! While in this role, I helped facilitate the high ropes activities we have here at Camp, which also meant ensuring safety and a fun time for the campers. The Coffee Shop
Camp pairs well with a good cup of coffee! At Black Diamond Camp, we LOVE coffee, and it plays a big role in making Camp happen. So of course, the Coffee Shop is one of my favorite features here at Camp. The Coffee Shop is located in the Mt. Baker Dining Hall and is open at all mealtimes. Our menu consists of 4 signature lattes called: The Graham, Campfire, Sasquatch, and Black Bear, each of which vary in sweetness and ...

My Summer Staff Experience: Rachel
This past summer, I had the privilege to work for Black Diamond Camp as a counselor. Originally, I came to Black Diamond for the Internship Program, but after getting my first real taste of camping ministry, I wanted to stay for Summer Staff. Throughout the summer, I got to spend time with the most amazing campers and be surrounded by an amazing team. Not to mention, I got to run activities like the 3D-Wall (my personal favorite), the Zip-Line, and ...
