3 Ways to Spread Christmas Cheer this Season

Christmas is almost here! If you’re already crafting the perfect playlist, decking the halls, and dreaming of gifts and gatherings, you’re right on track for getting into the holiday spirit.

And while all these things are fun and good, it’s important to remember the reason why we celebrate this special season – the birth of our Christ our King!

This year, don’t forget to make the effort to consider the needs of others as you celebrate. Here are 3 easy ways you and your family can spread (and share) the Christmas cheer!

REACH OUT

The holiday season is a time for gathering with those in you’re closest to, including friends, family, and local community. But what about the people you’ve lost touch with? Or the ones you’ve unintentionally overlooked in the busyness of life?

There’s no better time than the holidays to reach out and catch up! Do you know someone who is facing their first Christmas after losing a loved one? What about that childhood friend you haven’t spoken to in a while? Or your next-door neighbor – could they use a simple visit or an invitation to dinner at your house? Reach out! You might make it their best Christmas yet.

GIVE BACK

We’ve all heard that it’s better to give than to receive (Acts 20:35) but it’s easy to get caught up in wish lists and holiday sales instead. Make a mental note to embrace generosity this holiday season, by giving your time and resources to a greater cause. Donate blood to help save a life, drop off blankets at a homeless shelter, give to a ministry that means something special to you, or bring a box of toys to a children’s hospital.

START SOMETHING NEW

Sometimes, traditions are created without any effort at all! But more often than not, you have to create them yourself. Start something new this holiday season that will last for generations to come.

If you’re local to Black Diamond, come to our Family Christmas Tree Day at our Rainier campus! For $30 per family, you can cut down your own Christmas tree, have lunch together, decorate ornaments, and enjoy other fun activities! Register here!
